<2022-09-05T22:57:47.000Z> KarlDahl: Hey Caballero! Are you in Germany now? I noticed that you dipped out for part of the summer. Hope all is well
<2022-09-05T23:03:39.000Z> Morghur: Nah, it fizzled out and nothing came out of it. I felt like i really needed to take some time out and i thankfully found some temporary employment. Now i'll get the truck's driver's license and hopefully, find something more permanent. I hope everything is going well on your part. Summer has been really wild tbh
<2022-09-05T23:09:53.000Z> KarlDahl: Do you still have the pieces you submitted for The People's Samizdat about the lead up to the Spanish Civil War? I am closing in on being done with my book and would love to use them in the appendix if you're still interested
<2022-09-06T08:18:36.000Z> Morghur: Yeah, i still have everything on me. Even an article i finished just around the time the Samizdat closed. I can hand over everything to you if you want tbh. Better do something with 'em.
<2022-09-06T13:37:19.000Z> KarlDahl: That's awesome. My email is karldahl@protonmail.com if you would like me to use them (accredited, of course). Thanks
<2022-09-22T20:34:39.000Z> KarlDahl: Thanks again, sir! I'll reach out when buk approaches
<2022-09-22T20:35:01.000Z> Morghur: Thanks a bunch, expecting it
<2022-09-22T20:35:11.000Z> Morghur: I'm wondering what kind of stuff you'll put out
<2022-09-22T20:35:22.000Z> KarlDahl: Do you know of this band? Found them thru a search for versions of El Novio de la Muerte - m.youtube.com/watch?v=_mzyFD7y2u0
<2022-09-22T20:37:22.000Z> Morghur: No, haven't heard of them tbh. But they sound pretty good
<2022-09-22T20:40:21.000Z> KarlDahl: They have a lot of Catholic themes throughout and the SEAT song at the end is "interesting" 😉
<2022-09-22T20:40:44.000Z> KarlDahl: They may be a bit basado
<2022-09-22T20:40:59.000Z> KarlDahl: But there may also be a cultural thing going on that I don't have insight into
<2022-12-23T18:50:12.000Z> KarlDahl: Hello my friend! Feliz Navidad! I am wondering if you can help me with idiomatic Spanish. I can't find anything online and don't want to inadvertently use Español Americano. In English, when a woman's pregnancy becomes evident, we say "she is beginning to show." The baby isn't showing, the woman is. Is there a similar term in Spanish? THANK YOU!
<2022-12-23T19:07:04.000Z> Morghur: So, merry christmas, feliz navidad or joyeux nöel, whatever is best for you. I appreciate you ask me and not wanting to use mutt spanish. If you want the best option on saying that it's visible that a woman is pregnant, you can use "Ya se nota la barriguita" which is the best option. Literally translated is "I can notice that little belly bump", which is more or less the only one i've heard.
<2022-12-23T19:07:49.000Z> Morghur: I hope the year treated you well. I'm in the shit right now but luckly in April i'll have the Aptitude Certificate and i'll be a truck driver. I hope i can endure and keep my sanity.
<2022-12-23T19:30:41.000Z> KarlDahl: You are the best; thank you. I am so close to being done with this, and I just want it to be done, but accurate. 🎅 Good luck with getting trained up. Honestly, truck driving is a good gig and it will give you a lot of interesting experiences and you'll see a LOT of places you normally wouldn't. Hang in there, friend 🙏
<2022-12-23T19:31:24.000Z> KarlDahl: I drove for a living for a while and learned a *lot*
<2022-12-23T19:33:54.000Z> Morghur: Thanks a bunch. I think it's the best chance i have of escaping my parents at this rate and also make a good amount of money. My family really dissapproves of this but i don't care. I finally want to be independent and even if i need to go through 3 months of this until i get the trailer permit and the ADR too.
<2022-12-23T19:34:14.000Z> Morghur: Once more, if you need help i'll do my best to aid you. Wish you the best
<2022-12-23T19:34:25.000Z> KarlDahl: 🤝
<2022-12-23T19:36:46.000Z> KarlDahl: It's a deal. For the record I've been watching lots of videos of people restoring abandoned homes and barns in Espana Verde (no accent marks with this keyboard, sorry) - if you're driving for a living that opens up a LOT of options for such an arrangement
<2022-12-23T19:38:01.000Z> Morghur: I honestly wish i can get a small cozy property in the middle of the countryside with what i earn. I don't need much and for what i've heard from truck driving, i won't spend a lot of time at home.
<2022-12-23T19:38:16.000Z> Morghur: Still, i wish to live as far away from the city as i can.
<2022-12-23T19:38:49.000Z> Morghur: Plus, for what i've heard there are a lot of ghost towns for sale in Spain. Some are even haunted, which gives them a bit of flavour
<2022-12-23T19:41:59.000Z> KarlDahl: As much as you want to get way out, a house in a small town with local agriculture and forests/etc. you can explore is at least as good, if not better, from an "options" perspective. That said, the notion of buying a finca on a hilltop is deeply appealing to me
<2022-12-23T19:44:42.000Z> Morghur: Same, but for me one in proximity to a river or a lake is more appealing. The beauty of the mountains is great but i need the water. Walks by the river are always relaxing. But yeah, the appeal of buying a good plot of land in a forested area next to a village is strong. Specially if you get a good stone house with hardwood floor
<2022-12-23T19:45:19.000Z> KarlDahl: Check out Benifallet on the Ebro ❤️
<2022-12-23T19:45:59.000Z> Morghur: I will. It will probably be good to live close to the border with France. International truck drivers make loads of dosh in Spain too.
<2022-12-23T19:46:08.000Z> KarlDahl: If I can ever make a living writing, once the kids are grown up (not long) I'm dragging the wife there for 6 months
<2022-12-23T19:46:28.000Z> KarlDahl: I haven't been to Navarre but it draws me
<2022-12-23T19:47:53.000Z> Morghur: For me, i just wish i can get a good amount of money to buy my own property in the countryside with a decent house. I would like to keep drawing and improving my skills as much as i can.
<2022-12-23T19:48:06.000Z> Morghur: Hopefully you will get what you want. I pray that you do
<2022-12-23T19:49:37.000Z> KarlDahl: goo.gl/maps/ftGNuSYFMKiCzDpJ6
<2022-12-23T19:50:12.000Z> KarlDahl: I BELIEVE THAT THIS COULD BE YOURS, and we can share a bota there
<2022-12-23T19:50:39.000Z> KarlDahl: I was blown away by the area when I was there and had to write it into my story
<2022-12-23T20:56:30.000Z> Morghur: I have to travel around Spain a lot more. So far, Andalucía, Madrid, Asturias and Vasque Country have been visited, but i gotta move a lot more. But i see in the map there is a truck stop nearby. Really promising
<2022-12-23T20:56:59.000Z> Morghur: And yeah, i could definetly try to get some Licor Café or Licor de Hierbas and share a couple of drinks there
<2022-12-23T21:43:16.000Z> KarlDahl: Nice! There are some nice riojas I can get here, and vermut.. I am become old man
<2022-12-23T21:45:47.000Z> Morghur: Nah, i would say maybe it's an adquired taste for those. Where i live there is a very good brand of Vermouth called Petroni that you might like
<2022-12-23T22:03:41.000Z> KarlDahl: Looks like I can mail order it! I'll try it, thanks
<2023-01-04T22:06:56.000Z> KarlDahl: Any good anti-Anglo slurs you can share, friend?
<2023-01-04T22:15:12.000Z> KarlDahl: I need some accurate Spain-proper slurs for the English, lol
<2023-01-04T22:15:43.000Z> Morghur: For brits?
<2023-01-04T22:15:53.000Z> KarlDahl: Yessir!
<2023-01-04T22:19:36.000Z> Morghur: The only proper one is Guiri, but recently Hombre Pez started to appear
<2023-01-04T22:19:49.000Z> Morghur: The latter is because brits drink like madmen when they are in Spain
<2023-01-04T22:20:35.000Z> Morghur: You can also insult them for their skintome calling them "Leche descremada" if they are very pale
<2023-01-04T22:21:35.000Z> KarlDahl: lol
<2023-01-04T22:23:01.000Z> KarlDahl: Good stuff, thank you. It looks like that is sufficiently old to qualify. Thank you friend!
<2023-01-04T23:09:04.000Z> Morghur: You're welcom
