<2022-04-14T23:30:51.000Z> Jerkuleez: I see you are talented, driven and intelligent. Have you ever considered building houses?
<2022-04-14T23:32:57.000Z> WoodshopHandman: All the time
<2022-04-14T23:36:53.000Z> Jerkuleez: Are there many custom home builders in your vicinity?
<2022-04-14T23:38:35.000Z> WoodshopHandman: A few. None of them any good.
<2022-04-14T23:41:17.000Z> Jerkuleez: That's unfortunate yet much the standard. Building good homes is the hardest thing a carpenter will ever do.
<2022-04-14T23:43:50.000Z> Jerkuleez: Ever think about joining up, just for experience and clientele expansion?
<2022-04-14T23:46:55.000Z> WoodshopHandman: Not once. Experience in modern carpentry is of practically no use to me and what I do.
<2022-04-14T23:54:30.000Z> Jerkuleez: I see. Never building custom doors or cabinets or carved newel posts then?
<2022-04-14T23:58:51.000Z> WoodshopHandman: No, I can do and have done doors. Never done a carved post but I probably could in the right circumstances. Those are leagues different from modern construction carpentry though.
<2022-04-15T00:14:49.000Z> Jerkuleez: Construction/rough framing has gotten me into the right circles to advance my position in the finer aspects in the past. Just means to an end.
<2022-04-15T00:18:11.000Z> WoodshopHandman: The kind of construction I intend to do in the future and typical modern construction have practically no connection to one another other than "they use wood to make big structures". Entirely different principles apply once you start looking at different materials and joining techniques. The skills I develop as a furniture maker will translate better.
<2022-04-15T00:49:21.000Z> Jerkuleez: Ok. Good luck
