<2021-09-03T04:54:14.000Z> Godcast: Im interest in contributing to your project. Are you interested in a piece on prosperity induced ennui?
<2021-09-03T04:58:24.000Z> heidegger14: Hey brother, that would be fantastic! Thank you for your interest, it'd be amazing to host your work. Our submission email is tpswritingsubs@protonmail.com
<2021-09-03T04:58:44.000Z> heidegger14: You can either send your essay in-text within the email, or send it via attachment, whichever you're more comfortable with
<2021-09-03T05:10:01.000Z> Godcast: Will do. As is, its a loose collection of thoughts, but ill get it put to text by the end of the month
<2021-09-03T05:13:33.000Z> heidegger14: Looking forward to it, our e-mail is always open
<2021-09-03T05:14:01.000Z> Godcast: Excellent
<2021-09-03T15:22:09.000Z> heidegger14: Sorry - turns out there was a slight mix-up with the email address (beginner's trouble) Please email this address below: tpswritesubs@protonmail.com
<2021-09-03T16:07:44.000Z> Godcast: Will do
<2021-11-24T02:41:31.000Z> heidegger14: Hey Myles, just got your idea for an intergalactic fiction universe. I think it sounds great to build a communal story with our writers and see what they produce within the universe. What were your plans?
<2021-11-24T02:44:37.000Z> Godcast: I need to do some pondering on the high concept, but i wanted to host a short fiction contest through Samizdat and give prizes to the winners. I also plan to do an audiobook of the winners and pitch it to antelope hill as a complete package
<2021-11-24T02:45:48.000Z> Godcast: Once i get a series of prompts, Id like Samizdat to hype the contest and due date, probably middle of January.
<2021-11-24T02:47:47.000Z> heidegger14: There's some guys who've written for TPS before who I'm sure would contribute wholeheartedly. If you'd want some editing or conferencing via e-mail to hash things out, I know me and Hunter would absolutely be willing to help
<2021-11-24T02:48:46.000Z> heidegger14: Sounds great man, we'd love to host it and get some writers involved. I'll give you our e-mail in case you want to reach us through there for anything: tpswritesubs@protonmail.com
<2021-11-24T02:49:17.000Z> Godcast: Im at TheGodcast@Protonmail.com
<2021-11-24T02:50:18.000Z> Godcast: Lemme put together a high concept. Do you have any moral issues with me claiming ownership over the contest winner's stories if its made clear that's what the plan is?
<2021-11-24T02:52:37.000Z> heidegger14: No issues with that at all - me and Hunter can collect, edit, collate the initial submissions when the time comes. Just drop us a mention in the end product and we'd be good with that!
<2021-11-24T02:52:55.000Z> Godcast: Perfect
<2021-11-24T02:53:27.000Z> heidegger14: Can't wait for Hitler Space Empire vs. US Burger Beserkers
<2021-11-24T02:54:09.000Z> Godcast: I'm really hoping nobody writes anything THAT on the nose lol
<2021-11-24T02:56:07.000Z> Godcast: Whens the next Samizdat dropping?
<2021-11-24T03:04:13.000Z> heidegger14: We've been doing daily releases of content, but me and Hunter are working on a "The People's Samizdat: Volume 1" compilation PDF right now. Gonna have six sections of essays, reflections, poems, stories, etc. Doing coding in LaTeX and shit to make it look real nice
<2021-11-24T03:04:51.000Z> heidegger14: Basically just have a resource of all our written material thus far that's easily downloadable, printable, etc.
<2021-11-24T03:05:53.000Z> Godcast: Very nice
<2021-12-06T22:11:17.000Z> Godcast: I've finally got my prompt done
<2021-12-06T22:11:19.000Z> Godcast: Age of Man - Age of RuinA million years have come and gone since Man first fled the place of his birth. Countless fiefdoms, nations, and empires, occupied by unfathomable varieties of life have crept across the vastness of space. Each of them conquering, rising, waning, and collapsing, as if this cycle of ruin were the heartbeat of the great void. Man finds himself once again in the shattered ruins among the stars. The ashes miserable, but somehow familiar to him. To live is to struggle. To fight is to truly live. Even against the horrors beyond the comprehension of Man, where he can fight, he can hope.Greetings, readers of the People's Samizdat! My name is Myles Poland. In an effort to spur creativity, create cultural works that affirm our values, and provide quality alternatives to existing entertainment franchises (especially gay ones like Star Wars and Warhammer 40,000), I've partnered with the Samizdat to sponsor a writing contest.I want to create a shared narrative universe of stories and events that affirm right wing, pro-civilization values, rather than undermining and trying to destroy that which we've built up.To do that, I need your help. I want short stories. The best three submitted stories will get $100. The next four best stories will get $50. Simply submit a story by the deadline to People's Samizdat before the deadline to enter using the narrative premise above and the guidelines below. Best of luck to those who enter!Guidelines:The galaxy is a big place, but try to keep the focus of your stories restrained, at least for now. We're looking for character- and plot-driven stories, not lore-building or backstory. Incorporate any worldbuilding you'd like to do into a story about characters and how they interact with the world.A running theme is the Civilization Cycle (Hard times make strong men, strong men make good times, etc). Stories about any point on that cycle are great. Whether it be motivated hardasses heroically rebuilding a world, or a tragedy of decadence and destruction, if it touches on the Cycle at all, it's welcome. There are incalculable numbers of starfaring alien species who have uncountable ways of doing civilization and getting around. There is not presently any overarching authority in the galaxy. All genres are welcome!
<2021-12-06T22:11:33.000Z> Godcast: Lemme know if anything needs changing
<2021-12-07T01:39:30.000Z> heidegger14: Really like how open-ended it is, gives lots of freedom to writers in how they want to approach it. I think the prompt looks excellent. One thing I'd add: how would you want to address/incorporate your future plans with it (i.e, sending it to AH or another publisher, etc.,)? Authors might assume their works will be published on the TPS platform, so it would be good to address how their work will be used, or if you don't want to unveil it yet, allude to some vague future project. Lastly, it'd be good to include some sort of disclaimer about ownership of content - not sure how you'd want to handle it specifically, but just add a sentence or two about rights and use of the work if you were to submit it to a publisher in the future.
<2021-12-07T01:41:39.000Z> heidegger14: Beyond that, I think it looks great and it's an exciting proposition. We got a space on Thursday to post it and start advertising heavily for it. Think we'll get a good amount of writers jumping on it with that cash incentive
<2021-12-07T01:45:13.000Z> Godcast: Awesome
<2021-12-07T01:56:30.000Z> Godcast: Could you publish the winners on Samizdat?
<2021-12-07T02:00:28.000Z> heidegger14: Of course! I recalled from our previous conversation some ideas you had brought up about sending the project elsewhere, but yes, we can publish the winners and make a PDF compilation piece of them all at the end
<2021-12-07T02:02:10.000Z> Godcast: Perfect. Those ideas are mostly vague, and reliant on the quality of what we get, tbh.
<2021-12-07T02:04:11.000Z> Godcast: Add to the guidelines: submissions close at the end of February" and "Story length should be less than that of an average novella, and stories as short as half a page are acceptable."
<2021-12-07T02:10:22.000Z> heidegger14: Will do. We'll get this out there Thursday, December 9th, and I'll DM you the link once we get it up!
<2021-12-07T02:11:03.000Z> heidegger14: Yeah I'm hoping we get more mature tales rather than sperg screeds, but I have confidence in our guys to do justice to it lol
<2021-12-07T02:36:53.000Z> Godcast: We can only hope
<2021-12-09T16:43:55.000Z> heidegger14: Hey Myles, here is the TPS link to the writing contest: thepeoplessamizdat.substack.com/p/contest-age-of-man-age-of-ruin
<2021-12-09T16:44:31.000Z> heidegger14: I'll forward all the entries to the Godcast email after I edit and format them properly so you can judge winners
<2021-12-09T18:09:06.000Z> Godcast: Perfect, thanks
<2022-02-16T22:20:32.000Z> heidegger14: Hey borther, just wanted to let you know I'll be deleting this account on Friday. I'll message you from the TPS account and email you the contest entries on March 2nd in one big file. Nothing tragic, just tying up some loose ends
<2022-02-16T22:57:40.000Z> Godcast: No prob, thanks for touching base. You never can be too careful
