<2023-03-14T14:19:32.000Z> Gelert: Hi Louis, caught you on the Godcast, good episode!
<2023-03-14T14:22:28.000Z> LouisConde: Thanks man, glad you liked it
<2023-03-14T14:22:55.000Z> Gelert: I'm coming up to my confirmation in the Catholic church this Easter. I've put all my politics and bias asside to try and get to the meat and potatoes (or bread and wine rather) of the faith. I've tried weighing into the whole novus ordo/Vatican 2 controversy. Just reading V2 and what the Seeds and SSPX guys say I obviously have a lot of hangups but don't yet feel confident judging things without my political bias coming into it. Do you perhaps have any material to help out? Thanks!
<2023-03-14T14:25:11.000Z> LouisConde: So, I don't know if you've read the writings of Marcel LeFebvre or not. He's pretty much the main traditionalist source, I have to admit I am very sympathetic towards him
<2023-03-14T14:27:03.000Z> LouisConde: I personally don't go to an SSPX church, simply because it would be an hour drive versus 3 minutes, but definitely lean more towards the extraordinary rite and some of the stuff my parish does I find annoying
<2023-03-14T14:31:33.000Z> LouisConde: When I was in my twenties I was a lot more hard-nosed about the post-conciliar church, but a lot of what people complain about as a result of Vatican II doesn't come from any of the actual documents from the Council but people just taking extreme liberties because of it, if you actually read Nostra Aetate, Lumen Gentium, and Dignitatis Humanae the Church actually reaffirmed that Latin was to be the primary language used for the liturgy
<2023-03-14T15:19:59.000Z> Gelert: I see, I'll have a look at LeFebvre's stuff. Thanks!
