<2022-07-24T15:52:14.000Z> Delphic@bae.st: know of any gud and preferably cheap region free bluray players (not 4k, don't care so much about 4k and hdr), wanna rip dvds, bluray and maybe cds I collect?
<2022-07-24T15:53:57.000Z> EdBoatConnoisseur: Nope, it's been ages since i last touched even DVDs and i never got into blue ray
<2022-07-24T15:57:45.000Z> Delphic@bae.st: well, I would like to dabble and archive stuff on wayback before it becomes a very boomer esk thing like vinyl and the like
<2022-07-24T16:18:53.000Z> Delphic@bae.st: what are good work laptops and brands for linux?
<2022-07-24T16:21:56.000Z> EdBoatConnoisseur: Welp, outside of the obvious thinkpad, almost anything that doesn't got an nvidia card is good
<2022-07-24T16:24:00.000Z> EdBoatConnoisseur: I personally daily drive an hp probook 445 g7, and the only problems it has aren't really problems to me
<2022-07-24T16:24:22.000Z> Delphic@bae.st: being?
<2022-07-24T16:29:40.000Z> EdBoatConnoisseur: some of the media keys aren't recognized at the driver level but i just remapped the functions to fn keys with super, the other is a minnor annoyance that the hp wmi driver doesn't implement the hp battery health parameters, so the max charge cannot be limited outside uefi itself but i use this laptop more as amobile workstation so i just have the max charge limited from uefi.
<2022-07-24T16:40:21.000Z> Delphic@bae.st: so battery (bit of a problem) and keyboard keys (I can replace with my blackwidow 3)
<2022-07-24T16:49:07.000Z> EdBoatConnoisseur: Battery isn't a huge problem, just an annoyance
<2022-07-28T15:22:17.000Z> Delphic@bae.st: So my mother lied er whatever idk, so I've got my heart set on a dell g15 but I have one question. Do most laptops have good bios boot up settings for OS boot order and making a custom boot path?
