<2022-06-23T06:25:15.000Z> Crux_Invictus: No worries mate, I'll keep you in my prayers.
<2022-06-30T05:12:20.000Z> Crux_Invictus: Good to hear, I'll keep praying. Don't be discouraged if things plateau or you hit a wall. Sometimes you're just the one planting the seed, other times you're just watering it a bit. We don't always get to enjoy the harvest but we all play our part in God's work.
<2022-07-17T08:09:50.000Z> Crux_Invictus: ?
<2022-07-17T08:10:49.000Z> Crux_Invictus: Kinda, I attend a Lutheran church but I'm not 100% up on all the intricacies of being a Lutheran.
<2022-07-17T08:15:16.000Z> Crux_Invictus: I do tend to agree with the Lutheran positions on most faith matters. Or at least the Lutheran positions as explained by Super Lutheran
<2022-07-17T08:18:04.000Z> Crux_Invictus: I'd have it done as soon as the baby is born
<2022-07-17T08:26:57.000Z> Crux_Invictus: It's difficult when you've been raised to believe a certain thing. The way I understand baptism is that it's a promise from God that signifies this person belongs to Him. Infants should be baptised both to have peace of mind should they pass away young but also to ensure that the seed of faith is planted within them. In terms of circumcision Baptism is circumcision but it's, as St Paul puts it, a circumcision of the heart and not the flesh. So the water baptism supersedes circumcision and we are no longer to mutilate our flesh.
<2022-07-17T08:29:30.000Z> Crux_Invictus: I think where some traditions have gone wrong is that they see Baptism as the person making the promise to God and in order for that to count they need to understand what they're doing. I think this is why Catholics, Lutherans and Orthodox (I believe) have Confirmation or something similar to it. So when you're of a certain age you are Confirmed in the faith. This Confirmation will usually include sessions where you're taught about the faith, doctrine and so on. Since I was raised Anglican I'm not familiar with Confirmation and I don't think it's essential but I'm cool with it
<2022-07-17T08:32:22.000Z> Crux_Invictus: I don't see an issue either way since the Parents have made the decision for the child as the child's guardians.
<2022-07-17T08:34:07.000Z> Crux_Invictus: I also see Baptism as a kind of anchor or tether which kept me connected to Christ even as I drifted away. In that sense the promise is very real to me as I returned to the faith and have only grown stronger since.
<2022-07-17T08:36:09.000Z> Crux_Invictus: Agreed
<2022-07-17T08:38:55.000Z> Crux_Invictus: The Godcast was very instrumental in my coming back to Christ. They've given Christianity the depth that I needed when I was a kid and just didn't get anywhere.
<2022-07-17T08:43:10.000Z> Crux_Invictus: It's kinda funny how big of an issue that has always been for the Church. I don't think we'll ever be free of it until Christ returns
<2022-07-17T08:51:40.000Z> Crux_Invictus: that's alright mate, I'm never far away
<2022-07-17T08:55:37.000Z> Crux_Invictus: Go with God my Brother in Christ
<2022-07-21T00:03:36.000Z> Crux_Invictus: Well it's not exactly that He made them gatekeepers. Yes they are entrusted with the ministry of child bearing and are redeemed through it as Eve was. But they are made the responsibility of their father first and then their husband once they're married. So their husband and/or male relatives are supposed to be responsible for them, keeping them safe and providing for them.
<2022-07-21T00:07:03.000Z> Crux_Invictus: While the women of today aren't innocent of their sins, the men in their lives were supposed to keep them safe from the world and either through absence or cowardice failed to do so
<2022-07-21T00:10:24.000Z> Crux_Invictus: They're not meant to be slaves to their husbands and Ephesians 5 tells husbands to love their wives as Christ loves the Church, which includes dying for them. But they certainly weren't meant to be left without male headship.
<2022-07-21T00:16:42.000Z> Crux_Invictus: Yes
<2022-08-03T14:11:35.000Z> Crux_Invictus: Sure, what's up?
<2022-08-03T14:36:00.000Z> Crux_Invictus: Assuming she is being honest with you and there are actions to back it up I'd say this is good news. If she's regularly attending church, not going out drinking on the weekends and do on I'd say she's being honest.
<2022-08-03T14:43:40.000Z> Crux_Invictus: I think it's good to be accepting of someone's past but only to a point obviously. But it's sounding like this woman is ok based on what we know.
<2022-08-03T15:01:34.000Z> Crux_Invictus: At this point I'd say continue to pray about it. It may be time to date/court her but that will be a decision you need to make. I'm not exactly the best person to give you advice here beyond what I think is reasonable. I'd suggest talking to SuperLutheran if/when you decide to go the dating or courtship route. With my luck I'm probably going to end up married to the church so I don't want to lead you down the wrong path by mistake.
<2022-08-03T15:03:48.000Z> Crux_Invictus: Raising the question of submission and male headship may be a good way to confirm whether she's serious about the faith. But just be careful with how you bring it up.
<2022-08-03T15:07:24.000Z> Crux_Invictus: I'll keep praying for you Brother, going to get some sleep now so have a good one
<2022-08-05T05:50:38.000Z> Crux_Invictus: that's very good to hear mate, as you said barring anything coming out in the wash it sounds like you've struck gold
<2022-08-05T06:10:10.000Z> Crux_Invictus: that's fair enough, I think unless we start talking total nigger death most people who aren't just completely lost to the system will be fairly agreeable. Doesn't make it easy to open up though and it feels a bit like defusing a bomb at times.
<2022-08-05T09:09:23.000Z> Crux_Invictus: Actual lactic acid or are we talking about doms?
<2022-08-05T09:57:41.000Z> Crux_Invictus: It sounds like doms to me but I might just not understand lactic acid. What I've found useful are hot baths with epsom salts, ZMA, BCAAs/Protein Powder and tumeric/curcumin. If it's really bad you could take some anti-inflammatories like ibuprofen or aspirin.
<2022-08-05T12:24:57.000Z> Crux_Invictus: The way I understand lactic acid is that it's the burning sensation you feel during strenuous exercise. Which is different to the ache you feel in your muscles the day or two after training. That ache from what I understand comes from things called micro-tears which are very small tears in the muscle caused by exertion. As the muscle heals these tears it then grows larger and the amount of muscle fibre increases
<2022-08-05T23:12:14.000Z> Crux_Invictus: That'll happen, try an anti-inflammatory and deep heat. The deep heat won't do much on actuality but it'll help you walk.
