<2022-03-28T14:37:54.000Z> WoodshopHandman: BROTHER
<2022-03-28T14:38:20.000Z> WoodshopHandman: If I were to wrap a sword handle in leather strap, is it better to finish the wrap heading towards the hilt or the pommel?
<2022-03-28T23:50:05.000Z> WoodshopHandman: I see
<2022-03-28T23:52:18.000Z> ConfederateHobo: without any prior knowledge i'm going to say where your hand is least likely to be. so the bottom. a lot of sword grips are vertically stiched.
<2022-03-28T23:54:32.000Z> WoodshopHandman: Thank you, brother
<2022-03-28T23:54:55.000Z> ConfederateHobo: This is from one of my plains wars era swords. grip is wire wrapped but terminated at the pommel https://i.poastcdn.org/d2d764f6c9a981cd98f7600f2efa51dfba14757aaa4a3c1cc5c0bc021f87af9b.jpg
<2022-03-28T23:57:34.000Z> WoodshopHandman: Interesting. I guess my next question is which direction (counter clockwise or clockwise) the "spiral" should go as it heads towards the hilt. My initial thought is that, if it's a right-handed sword, you'd want the leather to run counter clockwise towards the pommel so your fingers can better grip the seams, but what you're showing me seems to be the opposite of that.
<2022-03-29T00:07:25.000Z> ConfederateHobo: From my admittedly uneducated thought, it's probably not going to matter a ton, for lack of a better phrasing. as your hand will be moving more or less be moving both clockwise and counter clockwise on the grip to perform different guards, reposts etc. though i think it'll be sword dependent as swords with complex hilts like sabers will have less range of motion. This is from a modern longsword reproduction. it's stitching is vertical along one side of the grip https://i.poastcdn.org/c4402350262097c1b28ab8d785bab324dc01167e4fe23d92704a781760024792.jpg
<2022-03-29T00:08:12.000Z> WoodshopHandman: I see
<2022-10-08T23:54:52.000Z> WoodshopHandman: I ask that you don't share this website publicly because I'd like to avoid people flooding it with shitposts and whatnot:

<2022-10-08T23:55:17.000Z> WoodshopHandman: I've never read such well-written schizo ramblings as these
<2022-10-08T23:56:53.000Z> WoodshopHandman: These people clearly believe what they're writing (or are at least extremely passionate about complex bullshitting) and I don't want to have any part in ruining that
<2022-10-08T23:59:58.000Z> ConfederateHobo: Oh! i've been here before. i remember it popping up on 8/x/ in a cryptid thread.
<2022-10-09T00:01:58.000Z> WoodshopHandman: If nothing else, it's very entertaining to read
<2022-10-09T00:02:08.000Z> WoodshopHandman: Gotta wonder how much of it is real though
<2022-10-09T00:05:49.000Z> ConfederateHobo: Very detailed. Going to dig through this a bit tomorrow lmao
<2022-11-02T08:04:59.000Z> WoodshopHandman: Hey man, I'm putting a lot of consideration lately into quietly leaving poast so I wanted to say that if you ever need anything, send me a message at oakenpilled@gmail.com and I'll be as prompt about a response as I can.
<2022-11-02T08:10:27.000Z> ConfederateHobo: I appreciate it borther. Same to you, can be reached at richardhandlar@gmail.com (forgive the joke name)
<2022-11-02T08:12:00.000Z> WoodshopHandman: lmao I appreciate it
<2022-11-02T08:12:19.000Z> WoodshopHandman: For some context, The Nova Project didn't recieve even a single submission for that writing competition
<2022-11-02T08:12:55.000Z> WoodshopHandman: I would have given 250 dollarydoos to anyone that would have even written a haiku and sent it in but we got nothing
<2022-11-02T08:13:48.000Z> WoodshopHandman: Poast's demographics have shifted a lot and it just isn't the same
<2022-11-02T08:14:46.000Z> ConfederateHobo: Unfortunate. It's been taking me awhile, but I had wanted to finish a short story by the end of November to send you. Oh well, castles of sand and whatnot.
<2022-11-02T08:15:37.000Z> ConfederateHobo: And yeah, a lot of the fun here seems to have taken a walk somewhere.
<2022-11-02T08:20:48.000Z> WoodshopHandman: I don't know if they'd want me to share this or not, but nugger and JSDorn and the Samizdat guys have a writer chat on element that I'm probably gonna join
<2022-11-02T08:21:15.000Z> ConfederateHobo: Haha, you should. I'm in it too.
<2022-11-02T08:21:33.000Z> WoodshopHandman: O shit lmao
<2022-11-02T08:22:00.000Z> WoodshopHandman: I'll probably try to sign up tonight
<2022-11-02T08:23:39.000Z> ConfederateHobo: Element is a little goofy and round-about because if the privacy features, but it's not hard to figure out.
<2022-11-02T21:38:02.000Z> WoodshopHandman: Okay how do I join writerchat
<2022-11-02T21:38:17.000Z> WoodshopHandman: I tried nugger's invite link and it didnt work
<2022-11-02T21:39:19.000Z> ConfederateHobo: Might've expired? I'll ask hogan
<2022-11-03T06:18:52.000Z> ConfederateHobo: If you already have an element account, tell me the username. It should look something like "woodshophandman: matrix.org " once hogan has that he'll send me an invite link for you.
<2022-11-03T08:09:54.000Z> WoodshopHandman: That's actually exactly what my username is
<2022-11-03T08:29:16.000Z> ConfederateHobo: Righty-o. I let him know.
<2022-11-03T14:22:03.000Z> ConfederateHobo: you should have an invite on the app now I think
