<2021-12-05T01:18:45.000Z> CaoCao: Hey after the ginger thread, I was curious if you had any book recommendations on other herbal remedies. I'm starting to plan out the garden for next spring and want to be ready.
<2021-12-05T01:20:18.000Z> CaoCao: Also parasite treatment. You're a wellspring of information.
<2021-12-05T01:21:56.000Z> scalar: That's awesome. Glad it's useful. Hope to get into more parasite information since that's what the people want, lol.
<2021-12-05T01:21:59.000Z> scalar: Most of the better herbal books are condition/issue-focused but let me look around for a good wide-ranging one thats on libgen.
<2021-12-05T01:33:35.000Z> CaoCao: Sweet! Thank you!
<2021-12-05T01:43:23.000Z> scalar: Just to narrow it down, not sure if a giant encyclopedia is useful - are you looking for general remedies or something more focused (i.e. antivirals, antibiotics, etc.)? There are a few for sure you probably want in there - Rosemary (EMFs), Thyme and Garlic (Infections), Andrographis & Liquorice Root (sars-cov-2 complications).
<2021-12-05T01:45:49.000Z> scalar: Sage, Oregano, Astragalus are others. You're "be ready" comment makes me think I should find an ebook that is antiviral/antibiotic focused?
<2021-12-05T02:00:01.000Z> scalar: I like hk1lib.org/book/7221691/dc81dc as an intro, but it is not cited at all. However, you can always use it as a springboard.
<2021-12-05T02:15:10.000Z> scalar: lol, however, if i've just insulted you with an "introduction" there are more advanced, encylopedic texts - but they are a bit outdated. hk1lib.org/book/509684/7f37b3
<2021-12-05T02:53:08.000Z> CaoCao: Thank you! Appreciate you looking into it.
<2021-12-05T02:53:20.000Z> CaoCao: No insult taken. I'm still pretty new to it all. I have very little exposure to natural medicine.
<2021-12-05T02:54:30.000Z> CaoCao: Guess you don't need to keep recreating these books if the knowledge they have has stayed the same for centuries. It's just about combining it.
<2021-12-05T02:55:38.000Z> CaoCao: Medicine moves so fast these days, they wouldn't be able to keep up too
<2021-12-05T02:56:49.000Z> scalar: Ah, well it's kinda just a resource to look at. tbh - the best reference website out there is selfhacked.com . They severely underpower the efficacy for legal reasons with "little evidence for" caveats thanks to jewgle delisting them. But the information is good.
<2021-12-05T02:58:14.000Z> CaoCao: Sweet, i'll check them out. That's so dumb considering the entire supplements industry is based on all this, lol
<2021-12-05T02:59:25.000Z> scalar: ah, the whole industry is a giant scam - but with a bit of work, you can learn to navigate it easily without getting screwed over.
<2021-12-05T02:59:46.000Z> scalar: if you ever have any ?s, always open to help if I can
<2021-12-05T02:59:57.000Z> CaoCao: Appreciate it, thanks again!
<2021-12-05T03:00:14.000Z> scalar: no problem
<2022-02-23T06:42:49.000Z> CaoCao: Hey man, I hope you're doing well. Just wanted to thank you for all the info you've shared. You inspired me to really get into getting into herbal medicine. I've got a 2000 sq ft medicinal herb garden planned this spring, I've already started germinating seeds and got the soil ready. Hope you come back one day, but until then take care.
<2022-11-02T05:00:18.000Z> scalar: Moving here since the new account was deleted - once again I am glad you're doing great, making big herbal moves. Can I make some reference library recommendations if you'd like to delve deeper?
<2022-11-02T05:00:50.000Z> CaoCao: Go for it!
<2022-11-02T05:05:40.000Z> scalar: Stephen Harrod Buhner . His books on Lyme+Coinfections, Herbal Antivirals are classics in the serious herbal community and remain effective even today. They're dense but excellent in usage as "reference manuals" to be able to flip to whatever you're interested in.
<2022-11-02T05:05:57.000Z> scalar: 3lib.net/author/Stephen%20Harrod%20Buhner?order=year
<2022-11-02T05:34:45.000Z> CaoCao: Sweet, I'll pick some of those up. Lyme Disease isn't really an issue out where I am for now at least
<2022-11-02T05:35:15.000Z> CaoCao: I always try to get physical copies, never know these days
<2022-11-02T05:37:12.000Z> scalar: Sure, it's not so much about the diseases but the individual herb-related information contained within.
